20 Mar A big meeting, leading to a big event!
On Saturday a meeting was held for all the TEDxNishtiman volunteers. A total of 550 people across the Kurdistan Region applied to volunteer, however 150 were shortlisted to help organize and run the event on April 1st.
The meeting room was filled with excitement and ambitious youth sharing ideas and suggestions to make TEDxNishtiman a successful event.
“This is a great opportunity for the volunteers to get to know one another,” Explains Rawand Hussein, founder of TEDxNishtiman, as the volunteers fill in a volunteer agreement form. As in all TEDx events around the world, all volunteers are obliged to sign the agreement, reflecting their commitment. “TEDxNishtiman is no different, we are working very professionally to meet the high expectations set upon us.”
In groups volunteers decided on their duties for the next ten days leading to the event, and each selected their roles on April 1st. Meanwhile the X made an appearance, which meant lots of group of photos, laughter and selfies among 150 youth complete with energy and a drive for a successful event.
